And about food, and about education

Popular about the complex - under this motto, the Festival of Popular Science was held at the Orenburg State Pedagogical University on February 7.

The OGPU is the only university in the Orenburg region that, for the third year in a row, on the eve of the Day of Russian Science, has been organizing open lectures for everyone, giving master classes and talking about the most unusual of the world of science in the most accessible form. The organizer of the traditional and expected by the residents and guests of Orenburg Night of Science are the administration and the scientific part of the university, headed by rector S.A. Aleshina and Vice-Rector for Science E.V. Burlutsky. As in the previous two Nights of Science, participants and guests of the holiday were welcomed by the rector of the OGPU S.A. Alyoshina. She congratulated the scientists and university professors on the occasion and thanked them for their tireless scientific research, as well as their desire to make the complex accessible to understanding by the broad masses of the population. Svetlana Aleksandrovna noted that the current Festival of Popular Science, which is the initiative of the OGPU, is precisely designed to help everyone who wants it.

- This year, dear guests, there are 33 sites at the university for you. Welcome! - invited the audience vice-rector for research E.V. Burlutskaya. The organizers have tried to make the program of the Night of Science diverse and calculated participants of different ages. Younger students were attracted by a robotics laboratory. Those older are puzzles from the Physics and Mathematics and developing board games from the history department. In addition, there were psychological and business games. Historians organized a lecture-tasting “Culinary Traditions of Tsarist and Imperial Russia”, not only talking about food in the 17th – 19th centuries, but also offering to try these very dishes: bread on honey, beaten, turnip of two kinds, porridge with cranberries and nuts and much more. Chemists gave a lecture presentation "Alchemy: science or magic?". A large block of discussion platforms was proposed by teachers: can everyone educate; how should the ethical interaction of teachers and parents in social networks be built; traditions of the eastern family. Vice-rector for social work E.G. Kameneva touched on the topic of socialization of personality and social networks, associate professor P.A. Yakimov - Russian speech etiquette, associate professor EA Elina - the ability of animals to talk.

The intellectual quiz was very popular. Students of the philology department held the second meeting of the art-cabaret “Stray Dog Basement”, recalling the St. Petersburg bohemian, the Silver Age, dipping the audience into the atmosphere of the last Petersburg salon. And about the pre-revolutionary balls in the provincial Orenburg, said Vice-Rector E.V. Burlutskaya. It is noteworthy that every year the initiative of scientists from the OGPU finds an increasing response from their colleagues from other universities and institutions, who also come to the pedagogical university at the “Night of Science” not only as spectators, but also as lecturers. So, this time, representatives of the Steppe Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Archive of the Orenburg Region joined in, and a special guest of the Science Night 2020 was a psychologist named after a Russian scale Alexei Lebedenko. In addition, Orenburg journalists Anton Burlutsky, Elena Kuznetsova, Ekaterina Stebneva, marketer Juliana Matyukhina gave lectures and master classes. The festival of popular science at OGPU this time was attended by at least 600 Orenburg residents.
